Kids Say the Darndest Things

4 year old "D" asked me if it was a Buzzy Day.
Translation----Will the bees be out?

Nope it's to cold for bees.
Will the mosquitoes be out?

Nope it's to cold for mosquitoes.

How about a mosquito with a jacket?

After laughing hysterically at the image it conjured
up in my head, I told him;
"I'm not sure "D", but thanks for making me laugh."

Later that afternoon........
Five year old "R" told me he drove his Dad's
riding lawn mower by himself.
Yeah right! I called him on it.
"I think that's illegal, "R", the police
wouldn't like that."

"Well, I was on a condults lap."
What's a condult?  Sounds like
a mix between a conductor and an adult.
"He said slow down, because I was going too fast."
He leaned forward and whispered to me like
we were co-conspirators.
"I had it in top bunny".
I nearly peed my pants laughing.
Earlier I had explained the pictures on the
gear shifter.  The turtle being the slow speed
and the bunny being the picture for fast speed.

We've had a pretty good week.
Tomorrow I start my new nanny position with
the twins.
I'm geaked.
Just finishing up the book Twinspiration.

Keepin them Little

As much as we'd love to keep them little..

We can't.

She is now big enough to tell wild stories.
When Mama had a bad headache,
Daniela told me that
"T-Rex bit her in the head".

Dino Exhibit

On Saturday, the hubby and I took Daniela
to the Dino Exhibit
at the Suburban Showcase in Novi.

Daniela's been a Dino fan for a few months now and
we knew it would be a bit hit.
She knows all their Land Before Time Names -
Like this one is a "3 Horn", but also that it's real name
is Triceratops.  Such a smart cookie she is.

If you're thinking she's crying because she afraid of them
think again.
She's crying because she wanted to go back to the exhibit
in the next picture.

She wanted to see "Sharp Tooth" or "T-Rex" as
she also calls him.  Even though he was huge
and his roar was fierce, showing all those teeth
and he moved around, she wasn't afraid.
Daniela was in awe of these beasts that used to walk
the earth long ago.

This one is for my hubby who swore there
were no "long-necks".
He's kind of big, how'd you miss him, honey?

We ended the day at the Dino Den where the
kids could run around and play on a padded floor
and sit on various dinosaur figures.

We had a grand time and her Momma
had four hours to do homework and
study for finals.

It was a Win - Win situation.

New addition to the family

The addition is not to my immediate family.
This is my niece, Melissa's new son.
She and her husband,  Jon have a another son
named Caleb.

Jacob Scott Rowley, 6 pounds 9 ounces, 19.5 inches,
born at 2:18 pm, March 9th 2012.
I stold this off from face book, because I know
not everyone in the family has access to it and they will
still be waiting for pictures.
He's sure is a cutie.
They are blessed times two.
It will probably be a while before I see him in person.
I hate that so many family members live far away.

I knew it.....but I blew it

I knew I shouldn't boast.
I was just so proud of losing all that weight
that I thought it would be nice to tell everyone
how great I was doing.

So....this past week I gained weight,
a pound of it I know was because I weighed
in at the evening meeting instead of my usual lunch time,
but the other two pounds...
yikes
Yes, I gained 2-3 pounds in one week and when
it comes of in such little increments as .4 and .6 of a pound
it was a rude awakening.

So, I went out and bought a pair of these
Natural Sport Power Walk Shoes by Naturalizer.

Mine are silver, so they aren't as pretty as these, but
the same brand and style in silver and I only paid $20, they were
originally $100.00.

And I've been walking twice this week, so hopefully that will
help with taking the pounds back off.
It helps that the weather has warmed up and it's actually fun
to be outside again.
The dog is lovin the change in weather too.
