Moving Day

Here we go...to our new house

Daniela in her new room

Ashley & Miguel's room before unpacking was complete

Happy Family together on their new couch
Ashley led the way and Granpa drove the moving van, with Mimi following in her car.  The two hour journey went without much trouble, except for tons on traffic and one wrong turn.  Unloading was hot and a few items very heavy and awkward.  There was one smashed finger (hope it's feeling better Miguel) and a dinged TV, but other than that the day went very well.

Granpa made sure the DVD player was hooked up so Daniela would have some way to watch her movies and she was very grateful.  Ashley has a few days off to settle in and then she starts teaching.

Life goes on at our house, with two empty bedrooms and a living room minus all the little kid toys etc.  I'm keeping busy with my nanny jobs and hubby has a new kitchen floor to install in the upcoming week.

In September before going to New Mexico to met our newest Grandchild, I will have Daniela for a weekend sleep over.  We have many things planned for those two days already, like a visit to the Nature Center new Playscape and a play date with Ella Rose and a trip to the theatre, play grounds & pet shop visits...... all our favorite things.

A New Tradtion - Started Family Wide

A new family tradition is about to be launched for all my grandchildren.  Yes, you read that right.....during our recent trip to Bronner's at Frankenmuth I purchased four elves, one for each of my daughter's families to adopt.  I debated, hem-hawed (is that a real word & did I spell it right?), and then took the plunge.

In case you don't know much about the little elf that helps Santa know who's naughty or nice I'll list some links, so you can see what it's all about.

Grandpa now has one arm longer than the other from hauling these elf boxes from the farthest end of Bronner's back to the entrance we came in.  I can't wait to hear about Michael, Ava, Henry, Sydney, Griffin, Daniela, Rowyn and the new baby girl's experiences with their elf on a shelf this year and many more years to come.

Miguel has arrived!

Miguel, Ashley's husband & Daniela's Papa made
it to the U.S. yesterday, Houston, Texas that is.
He didn't get to our house until Friday sometime
after 2:00 a.m.  His plane out of Leon had issues
and had to go back to the airport.  When he
arrived in Houston an hour and a half late, he
had missed his connection.  They put him on
a direct flight to Detroit, but that one was delayed.
Poor guy couldn't get a break and Ashley was tied
in knots over his dilemma.

All has gone well today, here's the highlights:

A trip to the Mill Pond to feed the ducks.
Played at the Imagination Station.
Italian Sausage & Zucchini for dinner.
Miguel tried blue berries for the first time.
A long walk and another park this evening.

Thank you everyone for all your prayers.
God is good, all the time!

These Guys!

I'm still editing vacation photos and fell in love with
THESE GUYS
all over again.
Duck or Run, but avoid the water at all cost.

Always keep your mouth open

Take a slide break

Smiles are required
There were more pictures of Griffin, and...
I hate to whine--
but the computer was down yesterday and even
though I re cropped & saved today
two pictures of Griffin still came out sideways.
Ugh!!!  Will the frustration ever end????

When Everyday is a Birthday....

That would be July in our family.  While everyday is a bit of an exaggeration, it is not far from the truth.  Ashley is the first one on July 6th and the list includes: My mom, my dad, my sister, two daughters, a granddaughter, a brand new great-nephew, a brother-in-law, a sister-in-law, and a niece and I'm sure I'm forgetting someone besides all those I've listed.

Ava is now seven.

Shane the newest July birthday.

The hubby on vacation

Now it is only the second day of August and we've hit another birthday. Please join me in wishing my hubby a Happy Birthday.  It would be nice to spend the day together, but it has not worked out that way, so we will have to celebrate on the weekend.  Honey, if I haven't told you lately....I appreciate the extra help around the house while I'm working so many hours and I hope to celebrate many more birthdays with you.
