The New Me...

Ta-Dah!

Well that's the top half anyway...

I was goofing off a bit,

totally unlike me.

I know...

Take a looonnnggg look,

because it will probably be awhile

before you see me in front of the camera again.

I Hit it!

That said....that could be either good or bad.

Bad if you hit a deer, a dog or anything fluffy for that matter.

Good if you hit a goal, which is what I did.

I hit a 30 pound weight loss!!!!

It has left me looking better, feeling better and

needing a new summer wardrobe.

It has taken me 10 months.

I have had to change my eating habits, cut

down my caffeine consumption and get moving

in the form of walking.

I've thrown out old recipes and tried new ones.

I've learned to replace ingredients in recipes, with

less sugar and fat.

I use Quinoa, barley and ground flax seed, just to

name a few new additions to my grocery list.

Portion control has never been my strong point,

but now I rarely over eat.

I still eat out.  I just plan what to have before I go, by checking

out their menu on their website.

That way I'm able to eat foods that are lower in

points values for Weight Watchers.  Before I would

just guess, which was better for me to eat and I wasn't

always choosing the correct menu item.

Ballerina Phase

Daniela is in the Ballerina Phase right now.

What exactly does that mean?

Than means she wants to wear this costume all the time.

She wants to play Baby Santa (Einstein DVD) over

and over again so she can dance to the classical music.

When she has play dates with friends she packs two

costumes so they can both dress up and dance.

It also means checking out Angelina Ballerina movies

for new dance moves and

Mimi making adjustments to the ballet slippers,

so that they fit her tiny feet.

I wish I had a video of her dancing, she does some

very funky stuff of her own,

and Gramie has actually taught her how to do a leap.

To bad Aunt Audra lives so far away, she could really

help us out with this ballet agenda and get

in some practice before her own little one 

feels the need to enter the

Ballerina Phase.

Strutting her Stuff....

Is it just me, or does anyone else think

she looks like she's stutting her stuff?

My current project is removing 2011 pics off

from my computer and into storage.

I've heard enough horror stories about computers

crashing and people losing all their pictures lately,

so I'm trying to be proactive and prevent the scenario

happening to me.

Pictures are priceless!

Just finished reading

 

This was a very lengthy book.

There were so many stories within the story

that when one mystery was solved, there were

others that were pulling you in deeper

and kept you reading long after you needed

to put the book down.

 

The majority of the tale takes place in Ethiopia

and starts with a secret union between a nun

and British surgeon.

It is a story of love, betrayal, medicine and

two brothers whose fates are forever intertwined.

A good read.

They have my number...

Now I'm waiting for another call.

The father of the second set of boy & girl twins

was given both my phone numbers yesterday afternoon

and I'm sitting on pins

and needles waiting for them to call.

Will it be close enough?  Will it pay enough?

Will they have back-up to get time off to see my girls?

Will they like me and will I like them (the parents)?

Should I start reading the juggling twins book

or should I just sit tight and pray?

Sooo many questions waiting to be answered.

Winter in Color

Daniela was the only color in this cold winter day.

She was teasing me about eating the dried up flowers.

She loves to eat snow and began collecting
it from this little pine tree.

I got her to sit for two quick shots on this log pile.
Then she was off and running again.

Last Saturday it was snowing in our back yard and today it's gone again.
