Rowyn - What's she been up to?

Rowyn has been trying out her big crib since she
arrived home from her visit to Michigan.
I hear via the telephone that Henry has started sleeping
in his big crib too.

And she's started helping Mama with the laundry.

Mama says she's eating a little cereal now and it's helping with the spit-ups.

Another baby gift arrived from a neighbor yesterday, so we
will add it to the box that's ready to be shipped.

I ordered a couple Baby Einstein DVD's and they are on
their way as well.

Rowyn I miss you. ( You to Audra.)
I hope to buy my plane ticket for my next visit in the
coming week.

Someone's Feeling Better

Someone's feeling better.
I just wish it was me.

Daniela is on the mend and so is Ashley.

Daniela's newest past-time...riding in trucks
with boys....just kidding.
In this case their is no room for a boy.

This activity was totally her idea, which makes it even cuter.
She tried to get in it and was getting frustrated, so
Lala helped with the second leg and then we
were off.   Putt, putt, putt.....Zoom!

She loves it and as you can see, she can even do wheelies!!!!

Climbing in for another ride, you can see how really small it is.
This truck is really a Johnson & Johnson toy from way back when
her mama was the same age as Daniela is now.
We kept it, because it was such a cool toy.
And yes, we sort the round and square disks and put
them on the pegs, and push them through the slots etc.
Who said playing with old toys is boring???
You just have to use your imagination.

Last man standing

Yes, it's Gus, Papa, Grandpe whatever you want to call the man.  And wouldn't you know it the only picture I could find of him that's recent and easy access is a picture of him sitting.  It's Christmas eve and he's eating something, oh well.  Usually I put a lot of effort into having everything just right, but not today.....

Daniela came down with the upper respiratory virus on Wednesday and I came down with it on Friday.  Ashley started feeling bad this morning, blowing her nose etc.  So once again Gus, wins the prize, he's just to ornery to get sick - that's what I say.

So you may not hear from me for a day or two.  We are here.  We are resting and trying to get better.  I talked to Audra yesterday and they are still fine, so apparently they weren't exposed before they left, which is what I was praying for.

Today I actually felt well enough to clean the bathroom and get rid of some of the germs in the house.  I made arrangements to have Monday off and work Tues. instead to give me and Daniela an extra day to recuperate.  Wish us well...will ya...

Out of Dodge Just in Time

I was so amazed and happy that we made it through the holidays
without anyone getting sick or even have any
noticeably ill people at our family gatherings.

However, only 24 hours after Baby Rowyn left
someone woke up with a high fever and croupy cough.

The doctor says it's just a virus.
No one is getting much sleep around here.

I did check in with Audra and Rowyn
is just fine.  Still happy as a lark and healthy and I'm
praying she stays that way.

Today Mama went back to work and Gramie Lala is in charge
of this little one.
I napped when she did and Grandpe has helped entertain her.
Grandpe put her in silly mode and it took me forever to get
her to settle down.  When she looks at him, she wants to start
the sillies all over again.

My Girls and Theirs

Ashley arrived home on New Years Eve and Audra didn't have to leave
until today, so they had a couple overlapping days to visit with
each other a bit.  Ashley's daughter, Daniela is 13 months.
Audra's daughter, Rowyn is 3 months old.

Are they beautiful?  All four of them.

Audra's friend, Rachel cut and dyed her hair the day before Audra left.
Rowyn doesn't have enough to cut, so she stayed home with
Gramie and helped cook a turkey dinner.

The formula seems to be helping, it's cutting down on the number of spit-ups
as well as the amount she was urping up.

I had the baby talking up a storm and laughing big belly laughs yesterday.
She is so easy to entertain and fun and cuddly.
I hated to see her leave, but never fear I'm planning to
go visit her for my birthday gift to myself.
So it wasn't good-bye, it was more like see ya soon.

Cousins

Daniela & Rowyn.
I made an attempt to get a photo of them together, but
it wasn't easy.

I managed to get just two shots of the youngest two girl cousins.

Daniela did not want the baby on her lap and pushed
her off and started crying.

Rowyn was startled and started crying too.
That's when I decided two pictures of them together was enough.

No children where injured during the taking of these photos.
And all tears were dried within a mere minute or two of putting
the camera down and picking up the girls.

New Years Day!

These pictures are of Rowyn on New Years Day.
I have found it very hard to find the time to blog
with two little ones staying at my house.
I find myself getting up early and staying up late
to be able to spend time with both of them.
Daniela just returned from Mexico
and Rowyn will be going home on Tuesday.

Rowyn - 3 months old

Looking so sweet in this sweater dress.
It is super soft and the hat fits perfect on her little head.

I took more than a dozen photos and it was hard to pick just
a few to feature on the blog.
Audra thinks she has pixie ears.
I collect flower fairies, and find her little pixie ears very charming.

For all of you that couldn't figure out what the heck
was on her feet when she wore the zebra rattle socks,
I wanted to show you she indeed has normal tootsies.

She spit-up on the dress right after these were taken,
so I used a dish towel to wet and scrub it and then
dried in it front of the wood stove.

Audra would have been so disappointed if she didn't
get a chance to wear it to the Roberts Family Party.

Today Audra started her on Infamil A R
for those babies that have issues with spitting up, I'll
let you know if it's of any significant help.

Today the girls and their babies and I went to church,
stopped at the house to pick up Papa
and went out to lunch.  BBQ!  Yum! Yum!
It was a great start to the New Year.
