Apple Pizza

This is one of the reasons I love FALL!

A trip to Spicer's Orchard means it's time to make Apple Pizza.
I know I could make apple pizza any day of the week with apples from the grocery store, but it's just not the same.   It's like the difference between the fudge you make yourself during the holidays and the fudge you buy at Macinaw Island.    Get the picture?

I made three pizzas last night.  Two for us, because the first one we dug into will be gone after breakfast this morning, and one for me to take to the Nature Center and share with co-workers.

The pizza we sampled as soon as it came out of the oven tasted divine.

Here's the recipe.

Apple Pizza

One loaf frozen bread or pizza dough.
Thaw dough and spread it onto a greased  pan or a baking stone works even better if you're lucky enough to have one.

Peal and slice 4 apples.
Spread apples on top of pizza dough.
Apples can be mixed with sugar and cinnamon.

Combine: 1/2 cup flour, 2/3 cup brown sugar and 1 stick margarine.
(I decrease my margarine to 2/3 of the stick)
Crumble topping over apples.

** you can add pecans, raisons, and cinnamon to taste.

Bake at 325 for 35 - 45 minutes.

Drizzle icing made of confectioner sugar and milk over the top of the pizza.
(I skip this as it's plenty sweet for me without it)

Soooooooooo  Yuummmmmyyy!

this is one of the reason I love fall! I love adding raisins and pecans or walnuts- so yummy. I never add the drizzle it is so good without it. I need to go to the orchard.

We love apple pizza too! It is hard to not eat it all in one sitting! I was hoping to go to the orchard this weekend, but they are calling for rain. :-( We will have to try again another time!
