I thought I had a handle on how the names were issued in Mexico. The children are given the mother's maiden name, which is correct, but I thought that the wife took on the husband's name like us...not true. See her blog comment below.
I know it's strange, but we are not Mr and Mrs Juan Miguel Silva Korte!!! He is Juan Miguel Silva Soto, and I am Ashley Ann Korte, just like before the wedding. Our kid's last names will be Silva Korte. That is just how they do it here...
That's one way to keep the Korte family name going. Ashley didn't want to part with it and now she doesn't have to.
